First FNA-C report

• Right lobe:  Hypocellular smears, suggestive of adenomatous goiter with Hurthle cell change.
•  Left lobe: Hurthle cell rich follicular lesion (atypia) of undetermined significance.

Comment: Since oncocytic cells & neoplastic cells of para-follicular cell origin are closely similar, to rule out MTC, assay for serum Calcitonin is recommended.

Cytologic findings in left lobe slides

• Moderate to high cellularity
•  Cohesive & loosely cohesiveclusters
•  Few microfollicles
•  Isolated cells with finely granular cytoplasm & many binucleated form
•  No lymphoid cell elements
